Handcrafted Modern began as a personal project. I loved design and architecture and was curious to see how my favorite designers lived themselves – especially if they designed their own homes. So I made a worldwide dream list of everyone’s home I would like to visit and began photographing them. It started out innocently enough but has become a huge project that has transformed my life. Handcrafted Modern is the book that resulted from these first shoots I did in the United States. I ended up writing the book as well and that has opened up a whole new world. It was published in October of 2010 by Rizzoli Publications. Included are the homes of The Eameses, Walter Gropius, George Nakashima, JB Blunk, Vladimir Kagan and Eva Zeisel to name just a few. A true labor of love.
