The Sea Ranch

client: SFMOMA

On the event SFMOMA’s show The Sea Ranch: Architecture, Environment and Idealism, assistant curator of Design and Architecture Joseph Becker gave me a call because he knew of my ongoing work photographing iconic spaces at the Sea Ranch and asked if I would contribute to the exhibit’s accompanying book. In addition to using some of the images I had already shot of Moonraker Athletic Center (which landed on the cover) and founding architects Charles Moore and Donlyn Lyndon’s homes, I was commissioned to photograph four more important and iconic Sea Ranch homes: the Esherick House by original architect Joe Esherick; the Rush House and the Hines House, both designed by William Turnbull; and Lawrence and Anna Halprin’s home, designed and rebuilt by Moore Ruble Yudell and Lawrence Halprin.
